Card Design

Card Design covers card design guidelines for Mastercard and Visa for virtual cards, physical cards and digital wallets. Each section has general guidelines as well as guidelines specific to Mastercard and Visa. We also have templates you can use to expedite the design process.

Card design is subject to approval by both Highnote and the sponsor bank as outlined in Marketing & Collateral. The card branding submitted for approval should include all dynamic and personalization information. All static formats such as .pdf, .jpg and .png are supported.

Virtual Cards

Virtual cards are displayed in an app or on a website.

Virtual Card templates are available in Adobe Illustrator or Figma files.

Digital Wallets

Tokenized cards provisioned to digital wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Wallet. Before a Card Product may be utilized with a digital wallet, you must work with your Highnote representative who will ensure all aspects of the program are in order, properly formatted, and approved to facilitate tokenization by the Issuing Bank and the Payment Network.

General Guidelines

Card Art controls how your tokenized card will appear in digital wallets, and the Payment Networks maintain separate standards in addition to general guidelines.

  • Card Art must not include any of the following variable elements (not even examples):
    • Cardholder name
